Beep...Beep....Beep

Nothing like backing into the championship game!

A few thoughts before I go to bed and dream of beating Iowa

1 I sincerely apologize to Andy for relegating him to the gopher bowl. He clearly deserved to be in the Blue Ox bowl instead of me.

2 congratulations to Jay for another great campaign- it must be getting boring for you - I think I write for the entire gopher three on this - we all want to see you lose but we all really appreciate your presence in our league your are an ideal owner/participant -thank you for taking the time to play with us.

3 If you recall, I predicted Troy Smith would win the Heisman a few years ago. Assuming an OSU win sat. I expect he will win it and I'd like a little love for making the call :)

4 I saw a piece on Mike Hart and how he has never lost a fumble- BS! He fumbled against Minnesota 2 years ago and Minnesota recovered but the officials ruled he was down- replay revealed he was not down. Also, did you know that in each of the last 4 mN-Mich games Minnesota has had a TD called back because of a holding call. I'm still bitter but there is no way Mich is number 2 in the country.

5 Did you see the top 5 historical rivalries in the big ten as voted by writers?

number 1 Ohio State/ Michigan
2 Michigan/Michigan State
3 Indiana/ Purdue
4 Minnesota/Wisconsin
5 Minnesota/Iowa

How does IND and PU get on this list?

Well, it is the first Blue Ox Bowl with a sub .500 team in it. That probably just means I'll lose.

I'm not bored, it's a lot funner to win than lose. At least I think it is. (That bit of bravado is, of course, false, since I sucked the first year of the League).

Yes, I remember the predictions of Smith as a Heisman winner. Good call. But I also remember the Lauranitus bashing from draft day. Hit off the crossbar on that one.

I don't get Purdue Indiana. Also don't get MI/MSU above Minn/Wis and MN/Iowa.

Michigan is not the #2 team in the country. But they are the #1. I actually think Michigan wins -- Schembechler's death is all a clever ploy to motivate the mMichigan team to victory. Either way, the only reasonable thing to do, no matter what the outcome is for a rematch in the National Title game. Whichever team loses is better than Rutgers, and they will, no matter what happens on Saturday, have the best 1 loss profile of any team, except, of course, the Wisconsin Badgers -- but they won't jump ahead of OSU.
