Goodger,

So basically you are predicting Minnesota to go on a 4 game losing streak? You will not pick them to beat Mich next week or wisc the week after or Ohio St. the week after that, yes?

And I thought I was the pessimist

I might pick them to beat Michigan but this is a weird game for Minnesota. Just as the result of the PU MN game makes me unsure about my pick in the PU ND game -- is PU bad or is MN good -- I'm unsure about my pick in the MN PS game. I'm hedging on both counts ... PU isn't as bad as losing to MN might lead you to believe and MN isn't as good as beating PU might lead you to believe. PU squeaks by an overrated ND, and MN loses a tougher than expected road game.

And while you are probably right that I won't pick them to beat Wisconsin, that's another game that is simply not out of reach for them. Actually, looking back on my pedictions for the season, I have MN beating WI in those projections so who knows? I guess it will depend on what happens between now and then.

I'll just say this and then I have to go. Purdue looked terrible to me. Their D is not that good and their whole passing offense is to spread the field pulling both safeties out wide leaving the middle undefended and then sending all rec. up the field except for one who runs across the middle and cathes the pass- usually it is Bryant. When Mn finally went to 6 and 7 d backs and had someone patrolling the middle their passing game struggled. Plus how many passes did Bryant drop in that game- wow! This is the same Mn team as last year and the year before minus Asad's running ability. Remember Mn had no pass rush against PU and had to blitz 3 before getting close to Kir. I think the D is better coached under Lockwood this year than Hudson but the D players I still believe are worse overall than last year. Finally, how impressive is PSU when they need a last minute come-back to beat NW? I think the problem for Mn this week is A let down and B injuries. From the reports I have seen they are banged up especially on the O and D lines.

By the way nice pick-up- Butler - he is going to be good
