Undefeated!

pandemonium was running wild in the streets all across Minnesota after the Fighting Farmers defeat Bucky's Goodgers. From Luverne to Lanesboro, people across the state celebrated instantaneously as the final tallies came in. It was certainly a hard fought battle that lived up to all the pre-game hype. The Farmers were back on the ropes, but never gave up hope. The Farmers now move on the face the hapless Halifax Spitfires, still burning from their 0 and 3 start to the season. Rumor has it they nearly unloaded half of their roster last night in midst of a frustrated rage. The Golden Goblins reached their first victory behind the arm and legs of consumate leader Troy Smith. The 1 and 2 Goblins will face off against the angry Goodgers. All hail the Fighting Farmers!

Coach Jay Feels the Heat

Fans are questioning Coach Jay's attitude and preparation for the weekend's game against the Fighting Farmers. Asked about the match up of undefeateds, Coach Jay seemed more interested in a game that is some 10 weeks away, the Blue Ox Bowl, rather than on the matter at hand -- beating rival Fighting Farmers. After the game, Coach Jay seemed similarly befuddled. "They had those new look uniforms, our guys didn't really know who they were playing. And I didn't understand the color scheme -- green I understand for Fighting Farmers, but black, I mean, c'mon, black is just the new Teal. I must say that angry hick they have on the helmet is cool, I really like his straw hat. And how could I know that Max Martin would have a big game against Eastern Michigan University? I mean, I don't have a crystal ball. I will miss that gun and pitchfork crest."

Wendelberger's excuses -- uniforms, poor starts, Gary Russell -- all seemed to point to a team in disarray. The Farmers appear to be on their way to the Blue Ox Bowl. The Goodgers will have to play better next week if they expect to return for a third straight season.
